Jackson Ellis West

Here is our little addition, Jackson Ellis West.
Born April 7th, 2010 at 10:49 at night. He was 6 lbs 9 oz(same as I was) and 19 1/2 inches.
He is the biggest baby we have ever had. He has been such a blessing in our lives and as you can tell from the pictures his older brothers love him very much. Dillon always asks to hold him and Riley just started asking too. This morning Riley was holding him and I asked if I could take him and he said no and pulled Jackson closer. I love having my three little boys.

My mom came to stay with us shortly after I was taken off bed rest because we thought that I would have Jackson soon after. So she has been having fun with Dillon and Riley for the past couple of weeks while we waited for that little guy to show up.

This birth was a lot different than the other ones. So at 32 weeks I was put on bed rest and at 36 weeks I was allowed off. It was a long four weeks but I made it, which was a pleasant surprise. 38 weeks came along and my doctor told me that I could be induced as soon as April 8th. So we made the appointment. Normally I have been anti induction(unless medically necessary) but I was in horrible pain with sciatica(baby on my nerve) and I have been having regular(sometimes painful, sometimes not) contraction (every 4-20 min) for the past 6 weeks and heartburn. I went into the doctors office on the 7th at 2:30 pm and he stripped my membranes. The we went to the grocery store and my contractions were every 3 minutes apart. We came home and I sat down and they spaced out the every 5 minutes apart. So we decided to go on a walk around the neighborhood. They were again every 2-3 minutes and they really hurt so we decided to walk to the hospital(just to make sure that it kept moving along). We got there at 7 and I was 5 cm dilated. They gave me an epidural(YES!!) and my doctor broke my water and 3 hours later I was 8 cm. They emptied my bladder and I jumped straight to 9 1/2 cm and felt like I had to push. I had to wait about 10 minutes to push so my doctor could get to the hospital. The most cruel thing you can do to a lady in labor is tell her not to push. Well the doctor got there and after 15-20 minutes of pushing Jackson was born.

I love having a full term baby. Jackson's birth was like having a first born, it was so different. He got to stay in the room with us after he was born. I was actually allowed to hold him right away. He took to nursing right away. And we got to take him home 24 hours after he was born. He is a really good baby too except that he like to stay awake at night( it was the same way in the womb so I guess I should have expected it). All in all we are one big happy family.

Well Wednesday morning was like any morning. I woke up, fed the boys, got ready, went visiting teaching, cleaned, and rested on the couch because through all that I had random mostly non painful contractions. I lay down a lot all the time during the day to prevent those pesky contractions from progressing. Then 4 pm came around and I started having them every 6-10 minutes but they didn't hurt so I laid down on a heating pad hoping they would stop. I was so excited to have gotten over the 32 week mark without going into labor. Well I made it to 32 week and three day. I finally got a hold of my doctor before 6 and he said that given my history I should go the hospital. They gave me 2 shots of terbutaline(thats to stop the contractions), 2 pills of nifedipine(also supposed to stop contractions), antibiotics because my white blood cell count was high, and the steroid that help develops the lungs. Well it's been 48 long hours of being confined to a hospital bed and the contractions have slowed, although i do still have some. But I might be able to go home tonight(that would be amazing). Of course I would be stuck on bedrest, which I can tell you from past experience sucks, but oh well. Little Jaxson is still doing well and staying inside. Dillon hasn't been happy with me and Riley doesn't really understand whats going on but I love them and they are really excited to have a baby around the house. We'll keep you updated on what happens.

Haven't done this in awhile
We have been very busy lately and frankly I have been really tired. Too tired to blog. We had a great Christmas with just the four of us here in Idaho. Then came Chris's Birthday. Then Mummo(Grandma West) came for a visit. Then I had a birthday. And of course I'm still pregnant, thank goodness.
This is my birthday. I turned 22. I feel old. Thank goodness the boys keep me young and busy. I got a sewing machine, which I have put to good use, and a picture of Christ by Liz Lemon Swindle.
This is me at 28 weeks. I am now almost 32 weeks. Which is a big week for me. I've gone into labor at 32 weeks with my other kids we are prayerful that it wont happen with this one. It's a boy and we are naming him Jaxson. Dillon already talks to him and Riley likes to lift up my shirt to see my tummy and give the baby kisses although he calls my tummy Dillon. He'll get it eventually. This pregnancy has been going really well, I have contractions all the time (for me thats normal), but I have sciatica(the baby is pinching a nerve) which really sucks. But all and all we are excited for our third boys. As if it wasnt crazy enough in this house.
Mummo came to Idaho for a short visit with the kids. They had fun with her. They really like to perform for family when they come. They run and dance around.
Chris turned 25!!! We ate wings and celery and had cake. It was a fun day for Daddy. Dillon loves birthdays. He sings, "Happy to you Daddy."
My little boys are getting so big. It makes me so sad. But they have to best time with each other. They are definitely best friends. When Dillon get something, like a snack or a cup of milk, he always asks me if Riley can have one too. And before Dillon goes to bed he always has to give Riley a kiss. I hope they love their new brother too. I just love these boys so much.
Riley is a crazy little man. He gets into everything. He started climbing before he started walking. He actually pulls the drawers in the kitchen out and climbs them to get things off the counter. He will be 18 months old in a month and he has to attitude that goes with it. But he is a very sweet and loving little boy. And as you can tell in the pic he is very happy too. He started walking in the beginning of Jan., finally and now he has no problem keeping up with his brother.
Dillon is a crazy almost 3 year old. He runs around everywhere and gets into everything. He talks a lot. He just sits me down sometimes and just talks and talks. I love it. I finally have someone to talk to when Chris isnt home. He love to color and to be mommy's little helper. He loves airplanes and balls. He is full of energy and love. He still love to cuddle his mommy( I love it). He is very protective of his little brother. When Riley gets in trouble Dillon will sometimes stand up for him and tell us not to get mad at him.
This year we did Christmas at home in Idaho. It was so relaxed. We didn't have to worry about going to different houses so that we could see all our families. We just stayed at home and played with the boys. This is them meeting Santa on Christmas Eve at Chris's uncles house. I really liked to cook, so I cook Christmas dinner and we just watched movies and played all day long.

Ever since the day we brought little Riley home Dillon has been the best big brother. He loves his baby brother and Riley loves his big brother. I feel really blessed because it has made having 2 children better than having one. Here are some examples:
